Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Playm (“the App,” “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Eligibility

To use Playm, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law
• Have a valid Steam account for core functionality
• Comply with Steam’s Terms of Service and Subscriber Agreement

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account by authenticating through Steam. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Not share your account with others

4. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or advertisements
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
• Share content that is illegal, offensive, or violates third-party rights
• Attempt to hack, exploit, or compromise the Service
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to access the Service
• Collect user data without consent
• Circumvent or manipulate the matching system
• Share explicit sexual content or engage in sexual solicitation
• Promote violence, discrimination, or hate speech

Violation of these guidelines may result in account suspension or termination.

5. Trust System

Playm uses a trust scoring system to maintain community quality. Your trust score is affected by:

• User reports and blocks
• Verification of profile information
• Quality of interactions and matches
• Compliance with community guidelines

Low trust scores may result in reduced visibility or restricted features. Severely low scores may lead to temporary or permanent suspension.

6. Third-Party Integrations

6.1 Steam

Playm integrates with Steam to access your gaming data. By connecting your Steam account, you agree to Steam’s Terms of Service. We access:

• Your public Steam profile
• Games library and playtime
• Current game activity (for real-time matching)
• Steam level and badges

6.2 Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use Firebase (Google) for push notifications and Sentry for crash reporting. These services collect anonymized technical data to help us maintain and improve the app. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Content and Intellectual Property

7.1 User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the Service.

7.2 Our Content

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Playm and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

8. Free Service

Playm is entirely free to use. All features — including matching, messaging, and profile creation — are available at no cost. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or hidden fees. If this changes in the future, we will update these Terms and notify users accordingly.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE:

• Continuous, uninterrupted access to the Service
• Accuracy or reliability of match suggestions
• The conduct or identity of other users
• Security of third-party services

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLAYM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Actions or conduct of other users
• Third-party service outages or failures

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Playm and its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
• We may delete your account data as per our Privacy Policy
• Sections that should survive termination will remain in effect

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You agree to waive your right to participate in class action lawsuits.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Playm operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
